About Greenery DC

Greenery DC is a botanic design company specializing in the integration of plant life into architecture and interior spaces. From thoughtfully designed plant installations to large-scale living walls and automated horticultural systems, we combine creativity, technology, and horticultural expertise to bring nature into the built environment.

We're a hands-on, fast-paced team that values curiosity, collaboration, problem-solving, and a willingness to roll up our sleeves.

About the role

We're looking for a relationship-driven Business Development Manager to grow our Washington D.C. studio. You'll be the primary face of Greenery DC to new clients and to the architects, general contractors, facility managers, and property managers who bring us into their projects.

Your focus is new business: identifying, developing, and winning commercial interiorscape clients, and building relationships that last well beyond the first installation. Along the way, you'll educate prospects on the benefits of interiorscaping and biophilic design, and on the value living plants bring to the places people work.

We're especially interested in someone who loves the pursuit as much as the relationship. Responsiveness matters enormously here: our clients hear back within a day, and get a proposal within a week.

What you'll do

Finding New Business

  • Add 30 or more new leads to the pipeline every month through cold outreach, networking, and referrals.
  • Get involved in the community, industry events, and professional networks to generate qualified leads.
  • Use your community and industry networks to promote interiorscaping and biophilic design.
  • Collaborate on and take part in our outbound sales strategy.

Winning Clients

  • Respond to incoming sales leads to determine each project's feasibility and scope.
  • Work directly with clients to assess their needs and offer actionable solutions.
  • Attend site assessments, both virtual and in person, and create proposals based on what each client needs.
  • Create accurate estimates, client decks, presentations, and proposals for plants, containers, maintenance, and custom-designed botanical works.
  • Complete proposals to company standards and within a week.
  • Draft, send, and file service contracts.
  • Own your sales goal, and meet your monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

Relationships & Project Handoff

  • Develop positive relationships with prospective and current clients.
  • Give clients an ultra-responsive experience, answering every email within 24 hours.
  • Generate planting sheets so materials can be ordered for new installations.
  • Join weekly production meetings to update the team on project progress and keep production moving.
  • Communicate across sales, production, and maintenance so everyone is aligned on new projects.
  • Handle the administrative and organizational work that keeps things running smoothly between clients and our internal teams.

Reporting & Team

  • Keep HubSpot up to date on every project.
  • Complete weekly and monthly reporting on new inquiries and ongoing projects, and contribute to monthly internal sales updates.
  • Meet weekly one-on-one with your manager or Sales Manager to review ongoing projects.
  • Share what you're hearing in the market: conditions, customer responses, and competitor activity.
  • Help foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team, and model company policies, safety standards, and expectations.
  • Use our systems proficiently, and ask for training in any area you need it.

How we'll measure success

  • Meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Consistent pipeline activity, with at least 30 new leads added each month.
  • Estimates and proposals completed on time, with a goal of one week.
  • Meaningful contributions to team meetings and sales strategy.
  • Accurate and timely communication, reporting, and use of our systems.

What we're looking for

  • A relationship-builder who enjoys meeting people and earning their trust over the long term.
  • A real drive to seek out, pursue, and close new business.
  • A commitment to responsiveness: a 24-hour reply is your standard, not your stretch goal.
  • Strong organization and follow-through across proposals, contracts, reporting, and your CRM.
  • Confidence presenting to clients and turning their needs into clear, accurate proposals.
  • A collaborative approach to working alongside production and maintenance teams.
  • Curiosity about plants and biophilic design, and enthusiasm for sharing their benefits.

Why join Greenery DC?

This is a chance to build a book of business around work people genuinely love to see: living plants, green walls, and biophilic design in the places they spend their days. You'll have the backing of an award-winning team across three cities, and real ownership of your market's growth.

If you're driven, responsive, and excited to help clients bring nature indoors, we'd love to hear from you.
