Plant Details

Monsetera Deliciosa is native to the rain forests of Mexico and Central America. Its young leaves are smaller with no lobes or holes, but produce their famed perforated leaves as they mature. As a sub-canopy plant, monsteras are tolerant of lower light conditions, but will grow more quickly and evenly in bright indirect light.

    SERVICE AREAS
Greenery NYC delivers to the following locations:

    • Manhattan
    • Brooklyn
    • Queens

Greenery NYC offers next day delivery for orders placed before 12pm Monday through Friday. We do not deliver on Sundays, so orders placed Saturday will go out the following Monday. In case of inclement weather, we will automatically reschedule deliveries for the next day we deem safe for the health of the plant, and will send out a notification email with the updated schedule.

Someone must be available to receive the delivery. If no one will be there to receive the delivery, you may give us permission to leave the plant outside the delivery address in the checkout notes. However we cannot acquiesce this request during the winter or in severe weather. If no one is there to receive the delivery and we are unable to leave it behind, a re-delivery fee will be incurred. Cancelled orders will incur a 20% restocking fee once they have been prepared for delivery.

  • Light Requirements

This is a medium light plant. It will do best in a bright location with mostly indirect light. This would be directly in front of a North or East facing window. It will also thrive 5ft-10ft removed from a West or South facing window.

Please note that obstructions can cause a considerable decrease in the available light. Windows facing other buildings or alleys, especially on the bottom floors, are particularly susceptible.

The surest way to see if your space receives the light required for an indoor plant is to take a light meter reading. Please see our Lighting Guide for instructions.

  • Plant Care

    CARE LEVEL
    Easy.

    LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Appreciates bright, indirect light. It is tolerant of medium - low light conditions, but prefers an east or west facing window.

    WATER REQUIREMENTS
Be sure to water your plant upon delivery. Monstera prefer soil that is consistently moist with a dry out period between waterings. As epiphytes with aerial roots, they are sensitive to overwatering. Typically, you shouldn't have to water your Monstera more than once every 7-10 days.

    HUMIDITY PREFERENCE
Medium humidity. Place your plant away from hot or cold air drafts. Monstera leaves are large and easily collect dust so appreciate being wiped down with a clean cloth several times per year. You can encourage more aerial root growth with occasional misting.
